Dhoni turns 30

New Delhi: India’s Captain Cool, who brought home the prestigious World Cup trophy after a long 28 years, joined 30s club today. With the World Cup triumph and IPL victory for the Chennai Super Kings, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a remarkable year in 2011.

Since making his debut in December 2004, Dhoni has come a long way to become India’s most successful captain.

He announced his arrival to the international stage as a destructive batsman and asserted himself smashing 148 runs against Pakistan in his fifth ODI. Soon, Dhoni was appointed India`s one-day and Twenty20 captain and his success as the captain of the Indian team has earned him the name ‘Captain Cool’.

He has achieved a lot in about seven years since making his debut. Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, CB Series of 2007–08, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2008 and 2010 against Australia 2–0 and 2011 Cricket World Cup.

At 30, the future still looks bright for MS Dhoni and we wish him more success in the years to come.
