Nag Ashwin's magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani among others, scripted history by becoming the fourth-highest-grossing Indian movie. The worldwide lifetime collection of the sci-fi movie is estimated to be between Rs 1100 crore to Rs 1200 crore. Fans are aware that there will be a sequel and Ashwin's hint confirming that the work for the sequel is in progress elevated the excitement among all. Well, now, the producers have dropped a major update on the second part of Kalki 2898 AD.
At the ongoing 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, producers and sisters Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies dropped a major hint about the sequel. Expressing their satisfaction over Kalki 2898 AD's performance, the producers said, "It’s good enough for us to make a good part two.”

Further, revealing about the sequel, the sister-duo said, "30-35 per cent of part two has already been shot. Kalki 2 will have a big international release."
Notably, Ashwin had earlier revealed that a substantial portion of the sequel had been shot during the shooting of Kalki 2898 AD.
However, the producers didn't reveal the exact dates but confirmed that an official announcement will be made soon.
Deepika, who played the role of Sumathi, recently embraced motherhood and is currently on maternity break. Kalki 2898 AD sequel will mark her return to work. Further, the producers confirmed that Deepika will play the mother's role in the sequel as well in some parts. Moreover, the producers also stated that like the first part, the sequel will be a 'big international release'.
