Mirpur: Indian team manager Ranjib Biswal on Friday categorically denied reports regarding fitness problems related to senior pacer Ashish Nehra which might rule him out of opening World Cup match against Bangladesh, here tomorrow.

Speculations are rife that a sore groin will keep Nehra out of action against Bangladesh tomorrow in the tournament opener.

"These reports are not true. As far as we are concerned, he is fit," Biswal told PTI over telephone from Mirpur.

In case Nehra is unavailable for selection, temperamental Kerala pacer S Sreesanth will be sharing the new ball with Zaheer Khan. Munaf Patel is an automatic choice for the third seamer`s slot.

Fitness has been a concern with Team India of late as pacer Praveen Kumar was ruled out due to elbow injury after being named in the squad of 15. Even key players like Virender Sehwag (shoulder) and Gautam Gambhir (elbow) are coming back from injury lay-off.
