New Delhi: An Income tax amount of Rs 201.36 crore is due from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the government said today.

"Appropriate measures have been taken by the Department to recover the demands raised which resulted into collection of an aggregate amount of Rs 347.06 crore out of total demand of Rs 548.42 crore (on BCCI)," Minister of State for Finance S S Palanimanickam said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.

The tax department had raised a demand of Rs 413.59 crore from BCCI for the assessment year 2009-10, of which Rs 307.06 crore was recovered and Rs 106.53 crore was pending, he said.

Tax demand of Rs 49.51 and Rs 85.32 crore, respectively, were raised for the assessment years 2004-05 and 2005-06, from BCCI and a total of Rs 40 crore were recovered out of it. Palanimanickam said recovery of taxes was an ongoing activity.
