Kolkata: After undergoing a repeat test for his suspect bowling action in Chennnai, Kolkata Knight Riders' star spinner Sunil Narine arrived in the city but stayed away from the IPL team's practice session on Friday as he was yet to get clearance.

On Thursday, Narine had undergone the test at the International Cricket Council accredited centre Sri Ramachandra University for his suspect action.

"On Thursday itself, he checked into the city. But he did not come for the practice session," said a KKR official, as the Knights had their maiden nets for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League at the Eden Gardens.

The West Indies cricketer was banned during 2014 Champions League Twenty20 for suspect bowling action.

He has been cleared by the ICC, after he underwent a test at the University of Loughborough Alast month. But the BCCI insisted that he undergo another test in Chennai.

The KKR has been on the warpath with the BCCI on the issue, and threatened to pull out of the IPL if Narine was not allowed to play.

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya had however said on Wednesday that he had "a word" with the KKR and Narine "will have to appear for the test again, does not matter once or twice".
