New Delhi: Three more suspected bookies linked with disgraced cricketer Ajit Chandila were arrested on Monday in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal with investigators claiming the trio were in touch with him for allegedly manupulating matches.

Bhupender Nagar was apprehended from Greater Noida this evening while Sayed Durez Ahmed and Sunil Saxena were apprehended from Hyderabad.

They were produced before a duty magistrate who sent them to three days police custody, court officials said.

Investigators claimed the three arrested persons were part of a fourth set of bookies Chandila, who is already in police custody, was in touch with and the player has been paid Rs 70 lakh by all of them.

Chandila had got Rs 25 lakh from one set, Rs 15 lakh from another, Rs nine lakh from a third set and Rs 21 lakh from the fourth set, police sources said.

With these arrests, Delhi Police have so far arrested 22 people, including three cricketers S Sreesanth, Chandila and Ankit Chavan.

Sreesanth and his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ankit Chavan and Chandila were arrested in Mumbai by Delhi police for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in IPL matches for payments up to Rs 60 lakhs for giving away pre-determined number of runs in an over.
