Man hurls stone at Judge inside courtroom in Odisha; computer damaged

An elderly man has been arrested for hurling a stone inside a courtroom in Ganjam district. The Judge present at the Chhatrapur court had a close shave in the incident on Monday. However, a computer has been damaged in the incident, sources said.

The accused has been identified as Subhas Chandra Sahoo of Bhanjanagar area. Sources said that Sahoo was present inside the courtroom where a hearing of a case was going on. All of a sudden, Sahoo took out a stone from his bag and allegedly hurled it towards the Judge.

Luckily, the Judge escaped unhurt in the incident. The entire incident occurred at noon today.

Sahoo reportedly had brought several stones inside the bag. Soon after the incident, Sahoo was nabbed by others present at the spot. Sources said that Sahoo is mentally unstable and more details can be ascertained after a medical check-up. The exact reason behind Sahoo throwing the stone is unclear.

Meanwhile, Police have detained Sahoo and further investigation is currently underway.
