Kotdwara (Uttarakhand): The body of a tusker has been found by a patrol party in Paterpani block of Corbett National Park. The pachyderm was found dead on Sunday, Sub-Divisional Officer of Forest of Kalagarah range G S Karki said today.
The post-mortem report indicates that the tusker may have died after sustaining injuries in a fight over territory with another tusker in the ongoing mating season, he said. However, the elephant`s body parts were found intact.
