Erode: Three wild boars died of injuries and eight others rescued when they accidentally fell into a well near here, forest officials said today.

The boars were roaming in the forest area when they fell into the well at Sikkarasampalayam in Bannari forests yesterday. Forest officials, along with local villagers, rescued eight wild boars while three others died of injuries, officials said.

The rescued animals were later let into the forest.
