"Solar power is available for all households and it can be banked upon for all energy needs of a country. Nuclear power is not 100 per cent safe. In fact, plutonium is much more dangerous and worse than Uranium 235. The world has so much plutonium and we don`t know how to bury them," Heurr, Director Emeritus, Max Planck Institute for Physics, Munich, said.
He was speaking to reporters here after delivering a lecture on `Nuclear Power and Energy Hunger` here. Terming the nuclear option "inacceptable," he said some people opine that risks have to be taken. "Yeah I do say we have to take risks. But we have to take risks that are acceptable." What can be termed inacceptable is if one attempts something whose results go beyond one`s generation, he said.
