Coimbatore: Live working models of various space equipment from NASA, DRDO and ISRO would be displayed for the benefit of students and researchers during the six-day `Space Festival 2012,` to be held here from July nine.

Models of Solar Viewing Telescope, Scale model of Sun-Earthsystem from NASA and Brahmos and other missiles from DRDO and rockets from ISRO will be displayed during the first such event in South India, which would be a confluence of the best minds from these organisations, Dr.C Swaminathan, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiar University, told reporters today.

The university is the coordinating institution of the event. There will be nine visiting NASA scientists, giving lectures every day at the event, to be inaugurated by former President, A P J Abdul Kalam, he said.

Dr V K Saraswath, Chief of Department of Science and Technology and Scientific Adviser to Prime Minister, Dr A Sivathanu Pillai, CEO, Brahmos and ISRO Chandrayan project director, Mylsamy Annadurai, would be present.
