Handloom exhibition in Berhampur

Berhampur: Weavers of Ganjam district are having a peek at the latest technology in handloom sector at a four-day exhibition here.

Innovative tools for weavers from various states are on display at the exhibition organised by Weavers Service Centre (WSC) Development Commissioner for handlooms, ministry of textile and department of textile and handloom, Odisha.

"Exhibition cum-demonstration will help traditional weavers upgrade their skills while making room for new technology," said Director WSC (East Zone) Sundar lal.

The Central Silk Technological Research Institute, Cental Silk Board, Silk Mark Organisation of India, National Handloom Development Corporation, Indian Institute of Handloom Technolgy are participating in the exhibition which began yesterday.

Besides, some individuals are also showcasing their innovative machines.
