Srinagar: The Divisional Administration of Kashmir will organise a cycle race on Sunday along the banks of Dal Lake to create awareness about the need to save energy and protect the environment.
"As a measure to save energy and environment from pollution and keep ourselves physically fit, a cycle race will take place from Zabarwan Park to SKICC on Sunday," an official spokesman said here today.
The decision to organise the race was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Asgar Hassan Samoon on Friday.
At least 600 cyclists from Jammu and Kashmir Cycling Association will take part in the race which is open to general public, he said. The Health department will provide ambulances, paramedical staff and first aid material along the route of the race, he said.
