Srinagar: In a bid to create awareness about environmentally hazardous polythene bags, a group of students here on Saturday made paper packets and distributed them among the people.

Members of the One Young Kashmir (OYK) - an initiative of students and entrepreneurs - today organised `Lets Paper Bag!` wherein students from schools and colleges had gathered to make bags from copies of newspapers.

The idea was taken from a Youtube video on how to prepare paper bags.

"It is an effort to help create awareness about the dangers of polythene bags and provide an alternative to it.

Whatelse can be better than introducing an easily made paper bag in the society," Irtif Lone, an organiser of the event, told PTI.

He said the effort is also to introduce spirit of team work among the students while making paper bags.
