Queen Elizabeth II, the longest serving monarch of the United Kingdom, passed away at Balmoral after battling months of illness. In her lifetime, she has visited India thrice, the first of which was in 1961, next in 1983 and last one in 1997, all with her husband and Duke of Edinburgh late Prince Phillip. Here's a sneak peek into some moments of her past visits to India.

This was Queen Elizabeth's first visit to the country back in January 1961. The then President Dr Rajendra Prasad, Vice President Dr S Radhakrishnan and PM Nehru received the Queen and Prince Philip at the airport.
