Bhubaneswar: Sending a stern message, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today stated that no kind of harassment of couples will be tolerated during Valentine’s Day celebrations in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Moreover, patrolling and adequate police personnel will be deployed at several public places on February 14.

“No incidents of harassment will be tolerated. The Commissionerate Police will take action in accordance with law,” said Mohanty. The commissioner informed that no kind of ‘moral policing’ by any outfit or political party will be encouraged.

It is pertinent to mention that couples usually are tortured and become the easy targets of several anti-social elements during Valentine’s Day celebrations.  Though no groups have so far issued any threats, the youngsters have been demanding adequate security measures on Valentine’s Day as there have been instances of violence in the name of moral policing in the past.
