Bolangir: Following the macabre incident wherein a group of miscreants chopped off both hands of a youth at Raghabpalli village in the district yesterday over past enmity, three persons were arrested after questioning today.

According to police sources, most of the accused have criminal records and were recently arrested in a separate case. Meanwhile, tension continues to prevail at Ragahabpalli village following the incident.

Notably, the incident took place yesterday morning when a group of 15-20 youths attacked the victim Khirod Mishra and chopped off both his hands. The assailants flee the spot after committing the ghastly act. A profusely bleeding Khirod was first rushed to Burla hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when his condition deteriorated. Police are investigating into the matter and have launched a massive manhunt to nab the other accused.
