Bhubaneswar: In a broad day light incident, a youth was shot dead by five motorcycle-borne unidentified miscreants in Deogaon of Sundergarh district on Saturday. 
 
According to reports, the miscreants shot the youth identified as Anand Panda from close range when he was on his way to home on a motorcycle. After the injured Panda fell down from his motorcycle, the miscreants brutally killed him by crushing his head with stones.
 
Before the commuters could catch the culprits, they sped up their bike and escaped.
 
Profusely bleeding Panda was admitted to the Fertiliser Hospital where he was declared dead by doctors.
 
Sources said the motive behind the killing is still unknown and investigations are going on.
 
Meanwhile, locals staged a blockade on NH 143 demanding immediate action against the accused.
