Youth held for attacking security guards in NALCO Township

Angul: Two days after some private security guards in NALCO Township in Angul were murderously attacked, police today arrested a youth for his involvement in the incident. However, two other accused are still absconding.

On March 13, three youths attacked some private security guards in the NALCO Township, the visuals of which were captured in CCTV. The footage revealed that the guards first intercepted the youths and inspected their vehicles following which one of the accused attacked a guard in a fit of rage.

Though the other guards and the rest two youths initially tried to stop the brawl, things turned ugly when both of them also got involved in the clash. After chasing and thrashing the guards, the youths fled the scene.

Soon after this, the security guards lodged a complaint at the NALCO police station demanding against all the three miscreants.

Based on the complaint, police initiated an investigation and arrested the prime accused today. "The CCTV footage was used as evidence in the case while efforts to catch the other two youths are underway," said a police official.
