Would love to see an India-Pakistan clash in HWC final: Pak Hockey coach Tauqeer Dar

Bhubaneswar: Irrespective of whether it’s a game of cricket or a hockey match, India-Pakistan clash always brings a key contest. An optimistic Tauqeer Dar, the Pakistan Hockey coach, today expressed that he would love to see an India-Pakistan clash in the final of the ongoing Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Dar along with his players visited a mosque in Bhubaneswar today to seek blessings and offer Jumma prayers ahead of their crucial World Cup opener against Germany tomorrow.

“I would always love to see Pakistan face India in the final but so far there is no chance of any clash between the two sides,” Dar said after offering prayers.

Asked about team India’s performance in the tournament, Dar said, “India played well against South Africa and the players, especially their Centre-forwards are in good shape.”

The coach further added that the arrangements made during the tournament have been excellent. “So far, we have not faced any problem as the security is fantastic and we owe it to the federation and organisers,” he said.

Pakistan have been grouped in Pool-D called as the ‘Group of Death’ along with the Netherlands, Germany and Malaysia in the 19-day tournament.
