Bolangir: A passion for cricket and the lip smacking sweets have resulted in the decoration of various types of sweets with cricket elements. In an attempt to woo the customers, a sweet stall in the city has exclusively decorated the shop with sweets shaped as cricket bats, balls, stumps and the World cup trophy. It too has named other sweets after the players of Team India. However cricket fans seem to be enjoying the sweets. “People are enjoying the sweets exclusively designed with cricket flavour. We have not expected such a huge rise in selling” said Gopal Krishna Mishra, Owner, Royal Sweets. “Since the cricket World Cup is on, this is a very unique idea to give the cricket fans a different taste mixed with cricket flavour” said Dilip Chandra Patnaik, a customer.
Wishing good luck to the men in blue, various organizers have erected large hoardings on the roadsides. People here have also organized a motor cycle rally showing their good wishes for the team. Youth were seen decorating their hair with the World cup trophy.
“ I love MS Dhoni and wish him to win this World Cup”, said a fan.
Meanwhile people performed pujas wishing the team to win the trophy.
