Women wing of BJD stages protest over LPG price rise, Ujjwala Yojana irregularities

Bhubaneswar: Members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD) staged a demonstration outside the regional office of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) in Bhubaneswar today over alleged irregularities in Ujjwala Yojana and rise in LPG prices.

The demonstration witnessed the presence of senior leaders of the party and over hundred workers of the BMJD.

Pramila Mallick, leader of Biju Mahila Janata Dal, said “The price of LPG has been hiked for the 22nd time. Women are being harassed for which we have staged this demonstration.”

Refuting the allegations Odisha BJP general secretary, Lekhashree Samantsinghar said “The people who siphoned off pulses worth Rs 700 crore have taken up agitation against Dharmendra Pradhan. The fact is that they are afraid of Dharmendra Pradhan.”
