The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence on November 27, and the Commissionerate Police has strengthened security arrangements in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled address.

As per the Bluebook guidelines, an extensive security plan has been reportedly put in place. 

As per reports, Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh reviewed the security measures on Tuesday. A three-tier security arrangement will be enforced during the session. A total of 33 platoons of police force will be deployed, along with striking force units, STU, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and personnel from the Fire Services department.

The DCP will be in charge of monitoring the overall security, supported by seven additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 26 Inspectors, and 88 SIs and ASIs. To further tighten surveillance, multiple CCTV cameras have been installed at key locations.

Additionally, five temporary police control rooms have been set up. Each control room will continuously monitor activities across different zones to ensure smooth management of law and order. A total of 225 officials will remain on duty to oversee the situation throughout the session.

"A total of 33 platoons of police force will be deployed. Around 150 officers of different ranks will join. Anti-terror specialised teams will also be deployed. Besides, 25 platoons of extra forces will cover roads from airport to Raj Bhavan and the Assembly. We took stock of the situation today and ordered for the required realignments. We think the police are fully ready for the visit of the honourable President and the Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly," said Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh.
