The Independent candidate’s remarks have intensified political speculation, especially amid cross-party calculations during the nomination process. While Ray did not disclose specific names, his confidence about securing support from across party lines has sparked fresh debate over possible strategic alignments.

“Today I filed my nomination as an independent candidate. I want to thank the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Amit Shah Ji, Nitin Nabin Ji, Odisha Chief Minister, the party President Manmohan Samal, and everyone else in the BJP, especially Manmohan Bhai, for fully supporting me. I filed a nomination to contest this (Rajya Sabha) election, and my campaign will begin tomorrow,” Dilip Ray.

“I have full faith that just as I had received support in 2002 last time and won, this time too I will surely win,” the Independent candidate expressed while speaking to the media.

Meanwhile, the BJD supremo and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik has expressed optimism about the victory of party candidates Santrupt Mishra and Datteswar Hota after they filed their nomination papers today. Welcoming both candidates, Naveen said he is hopeful of their success in the election.

When asked about the possibility of any political alliance or mutual understanding, Naveen responded cautiously, saying that time would determine the future. His measured reply has further fueled speculation over potential behind-the-scenes negotiations.

“I am very glad to announce that both our candidates, our two candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections, Dr. Mishra and Dr. Hota, have filed their papers for the elections to the Rajya Sabha. I congratulate both of them, and I'm sure they'll have a very happy victory. Let us see. As you know, time always tells future history,” the BJD supremo stated.

With claims of cross-voting and strategic support emerging, the Rajya Sabha race in Odisha is shaping up to be closely watched, as parties weigh numbers and alliances ahead of the final outcome.
