She added that the party would remain prepared to address public issues and serve the people, reiterating her commitment to grassroots politics. Sofia’s remarks come amid speculation over the political impact of Moquim’s expulsion from Congress.

The Congress leadership has not yet issued an official statement on the matter, while party workers in the region continue to assess the situation following the development.

Worth mentioning, former MLA Mohammed Moquim has been expelled from the Indian National Congress (INC) for alleged anti-party activities. With this decision, Moquim has also been removed from the party’s primary membership.

Moquim had recently challenged the party leadership and had written a letter to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over the leadership of OPCC President Bhakta Das, which the party viewed as indiscipline and anti-party conduct.
