Cuttack: Popular Bollywood singer Daler Mehndi mesmerized visitors at a special concert organised during the ongoing Bali Yatra in Cuttack on Saturday. The pop singer, who was instrumental in putting Punjabi music on the global map, struck an immediate cord with the spectators with 'Bolo Tara Ra Ra' song.

Talking with reporters, Mehndi said, "Bali Yatra is a largest annual fair which is thronged by lakhs of visitors. It is an honour for me to perform here."

Mehndi further stated that, "It is the love of people that inspires singers to perform well. I am willing to sing Odia songs. If I get some Odia songs, I will sing free of cost for the people of Odisha."

It is pertinent to mention here that the historic Bali Yatra festival has now got the status of a State-level festival. Adequate steps have been taken by Odisha government and district administration to improve the facilities and infrastructure for organising the mega event this year.

"It was a good concert. I am a great fan of Daler Mehndi and watching him perform on the banks of Mahanadi river was quite memorable," said a visitor.
