The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the southwest Bay of Bengal continues to persist over the same area on February 22, 2026. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

The system is likely to continue moving west-northwestwards initially and then gradually recurve northeastwards over the southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of February 23, 2026): Dry weather is likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of February 23 to 0830 hrs IST of February 24, 2026)

Light rain or thunderstorm is very likely at one or two places over Sundergarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khordha, Puri, Keonjhar, and Kalahandi.

Dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.
