Bhubaneswar: The already rain-soaked Odisha is all set to be lashed by more showers beginning Wednesday.

The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department here has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in northern and interior parts of the State due to formation of low pressure over the northeast Bay of Bengal.

“The rainfall activity will remain comparatively less today but it is expected to increase from September 5. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in north Odisha,” informed Director of Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm and lightning alert has been issued for Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Ganjam districts till 1. 30 pm today.
