Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar today issued heavy rainfall warning for seven Odisha districts- Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh and Puri.

Duty officer, Ajay Nayak informed that the yesterday's low pressure area over coastal Odisha moved towards Northwest Odisha and its neighbourhood and under its impact several parts will experience light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours.

"Districts like Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul & Dhenkanal will experience light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours," said Nayak.

The fishermen in the coastal Odisha have been warned not to venture into the sea as gusty winds reaching a speed between 40 to 50 KMPH will prevail along the coast.

"Another low pressure is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal by August 28 and several parts of the State will experience increase in rainfall activity," Nayak added.
