Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Saturday predicted that heat wave condition will prevail in the Western parts of Odisha for the next 48 hours.

Temperature is likely to remain 2 to 3 degree Celsius above normal in several parts of Sambalpur, Hirakud, Bargarh, Nuapada, Jharsuguda Deogarh and Bolangir in the next two to three days, informed meteorologist Sudarshan Mishra.

Mishra further informed that mercury will be below the 40 degree Celsius mark in coastal districts in view of sea breeze. However, western and interior parts in the State will continue to experience heat wave conditions.

Meanwhile, normal life across Odisha has been adversely affected due to heat wave which has been prevailing for the past couple of weeks in Odisha.

Temperature in as many as 10 places in Odisha soared above 40 degrees Celsius on Friday. Titlagarh was the hottest at 44.2 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur 43.9 degree Celsius, Hirakud 43.8, Talcher 43.7, Jharsuguda 43.5, Bhubaneswar 37.7 and Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 37.2 degree Celsius.
