Weather Forecast: Deep Depression Over Bay Of Bengal Weakens

Bhubaneswar: The deep depression formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal & north Odisha coasts has weakened into a well marked low pressure area, officials of the Regional Met Department informed.

However, rainfall is likely over a few places in the interior areas and Western Odisha due to active monsoon, official said. The Met officials further informed that the weather condition over the coastal areas in Odisha will remain dry.

As per reports, the State has received 15 per cent more rainfall in comparision with previous years. As many as 25 districts have received sporadic rainfall, the highest being 14.0 mm in Dhenkanal district.

With this, the cumulative average rainfall of the State from June 1 till September 8 has come to a surplus of 19 per cent over the long term average rainfall.

The Met has forecast rain and thunder showers at many places over North Coastal Odisha and a few places over rest Odisha for tomorrow but there is no warning of heavy rainfall in any place.
