Weather Alert: Thunderstorm & lightning alert issued for 9 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued thunderstorm with light rainfall warning along with gusty wind speed reaching 30 to 40 Km/Hr in nine districts of Odisha till 8:00 PM today.

The alert has been issued in the districts--Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

Earlier today, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) had issued dangerous thunderstorm and lightning alert for several places in two districts in the State today. As per the available data from the Earth Networks, thunderstorm and lightning alert were issued for --Narayanpatna and Bandhagaon blocks of Koraput district till 5:17 PM today.

Similarly the people in Gunupur, Ramanguda, Kolnara,Padmapur, Bissam Cuttack, Kashipur,Kalyansinghpur areas of Rayagada district were asked to remain alert.
