Bolangir/Nayagarh: One ward member was killed and two persons were injured in a group clash in two separate poll related violent incidents in the state today. Bolangir police has arrested two persons in connection with the killing of a ward member candidate.
 
The ward member candidate of Thapapalli under Bairasa panchayat Ekadasia Majhi was killed at village Bhadrapalli in broad-day light. Family members of the deceased Ekadasia told that he had a scuffle with his political opponent two days back. Ekadasia today morning went to the nearby market to sell paddy but did not return home. His body was found lying in a pool of blood in a mung field. Complained Birendra Majhi,"This is the handiwork of my brother`s political opponent. He has killed my brother."

In Gamei village under Sarankul police station in Nayagarh district two persons were injured in a clash between supporters and workers of two different political parties. Two separate cases have been registered by both the parties in the Sarankul police station.
