Bhubaneswar: In a bid to create awareness among voters about Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) & voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machine ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state, a 'voter awareness vehicle' was flagged off from the capital city today.

As per reports, Khurda collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra flagged off the awareness campaign in which voter awareness vehicles will reach out to the people residing in the interior parts.

In the first phase two mobile vans are engaged to conduct mock polling and a total of 16 vans will be pressed into service in the entire Khurda district, informed sources.

"We have prepared the route chart so that not a single village is left uncovered by the campaign" said Khurda Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra.

It is pertinent to mention here that, even though the dates for the polls are yet to be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the State Election Commission has started all necessary preparations right from procurement of EVMs, VVPATs, revision of voters list to training of officers.
