Viral Video: 5T Secretary VK Pandian Evades Complainant In Bolangir

Bolangir: Secretary of Transformation and Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian was caught unaware at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital here on Thursday when he reportedly avoided listening to a patient’s attendant who was trying to speak to him about irregularities in the hospital. Pandian was at the hospital as a part of his tours across the State to collect first hand information about the functioning and shortcomings at hospitals.

The video of the complainant trying to speak to Pandian at the hospital has now gone viral on social media.

In the video, the 5T secretary can be seen lowering and subsequently raising the glass of his car’s window twice, which indicated that he was trying to evade the complainant.

Though the entire conversation is not auible, the complainant Govind Satpathy stated that during his short interaction with 5T Secretary, he wanted to allege that nurses at gynaecology department are demanding Rs 200 for conducting deliveries while most of the blood tests are conducted outside the hospital.

“After knocking the window pane of the car, he (Pandian) lowered the glass and I tried to brief him regarding irregularities at the hospital. However, I felt he was not keen to hear the grievance which I raised in the interest of poor patients,” said Satpathy.

Though 5T Secretary VK Pandian could not be contacted over the incident, Bolangir Collector Arindam Dakua stated that, “Bolangir District Headquarters hospital is now a medical college which is a good initiative. Today, we have put forward some demands; we hope that all issues will be resolved.”
