Sambalpur: As the cease work stir by junior doctors continues to disrupt the healthcare services at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), the authorities of the institute have decided to impose ‘no work, no pay’ against the agitating doctors.

VIMSAR principal and dean, Braja Mohan Mishra yesterday said that decision on 'no work, no pay' would come into force immediately and will be imposed on those who have not worked since November 16. The decision was taken during a disciplinary committee meeting of the institution in which heads of the departments of the institution were present.

According to sources, the authorities have sent an SOS to the health department to provide at least 60 doctors to manage the situation arising out of the ongoing agitation by the junior doctors.

The junior doctors’ association (JDA) of VIMSAR has been staging an agitation over a 10-point charter of demands since November 17. They have also been demanding removal of the institute director Ashwini Pujahari over his indulgence in unlawful activities.
