Villagers block national highway

Tension gripped in the area after death of a woman and injuries of three persons in a road accident.

Sixty-year-old Shakuntala Nayak was killed on the spot, while her son and grand son were injured when a Baliguda-bound passenger bus dashed the motorbike on which they travelled from Gambhariguda village.

Another girl who was coming on a bicycle was also injured in the accident. The injured persons were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here and their condition was stated to be serious.

Angry people blocked the NH at Khandara road. They demanded compensation to the kins of the dead. The agitators did not even allow the two-wheelers to pass on the road.

Several vehicles including the loaded trucks, long-run buses were standing in either sides of the village. Police forces were deployed in the spot and tried to convince the agitators.
