Video of Kantabanji MLA misbehaving with old woman goes viral
Bhubaneswar: After the videos depicting hooliganism by BJD MLAs Prashant Jagdev and Samir Das went viral, a video of Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan misbehaving with a senior citizen has surfaced.
In the video, Khan is seen misbehaving with the old woman who reportedly came for a food security card. The MLA even threatened the woman to not provide coverage under the food security scheme because of BJP’s win in Padampur zilla parishad election.
Local residents even protested the behaviour of the MLA.
“He threatened not to issue the card saying that I voted for BJP,” claimed the old woman in the video, Kumari Kharsel. She said that the MLA even shouted at her asking her to go away.
Ayub Khan on the other hand said, “There are many people who are against me and want to be MLA. They send people to me as a part of a conspiracy.”
According to sources, this is not the first time that allegations of misbehaviour have surfaced against Khan. A few days ago, a complaint was lodged against the MLA for foul-mouthing people. Locals had even protested in front of the police station demanding his arrest.
Earlier too, BJD MLAs Prashant Jagdev and Samir Das have been accused of shouting and misbehaving with people.
Meanwhile, BJP said that arrogance is the reason behind the hooliganism of BJD MLAs. Party spokesperson, Golak Mohapatra said “All the statements made by the BJD MLAs are reflections of arrogance and pride after 18 years of rule.”
“They are harassing the poor and this is the real identity of BJD,” Mohapatra added.
Responding to the saffron party, BJD spokesperson Samir Das said “The BJP is rather full of arrogance as they are claiming to win 120 seats in the state.”
It is to be noted that earlier a video featuring Minister Surya Narayan Patro’s supporters seeking support from people at a government event also went viral. Moreover, a former BJD MLA is also embroiled in a sex tape controversy.
