Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Odisha on Thursday and proceeded directly to Cuttack after landing at the Bhubaneswar airport, reaching the state capital around 25 minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
He was received at the airport by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and other senior officials. The Vice President was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival.
From the airport, the Vice President travelled to Cuttack as part of his official visit to attend programmes marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, observed as Parakram Diwas.
During his visit, Vice President Radhakrishnan, along with the Governor and the Chief Minister, paid floral tributes at the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and visited the Netaji Museum in Cuttack. In view of the visit, the Netaji Memorial remained closed to the general public from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Vice President also inaugurated the District Culture Bhawan in Cuttack. Later in the day, he arrived at Lok Seva Bhawan for lunch.
Elaborate security arrangements were put in place across the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in connection with the Vice President’s visit.

According to the itinerary, the Vice President is scheduled to depart for Kolkata at 2.15 p.m. from the Bhubaneswar airport.
Meanwhile, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous said it was a matter of pride that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born at Odia Bazaar in Cuttack, adding that his birthplace should be declared a national heritage site.
