Bhubaneswar: Veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader from Odisha Harihar Nanda passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar today. He was 85 and was suffering from liver related ailments, said sources.
Nanda, famously noted as 'Harihar Da' in the Sangh Parivar, was the one of the foremost campaigner of the RSS ideology in Odisha.
During his lifetime, Nanda served as the editor of Rastra Deep, an Odia weekly, chief of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Jagaran. He had also served as the state general secretary from the regional unit of RSS in Odisha.
People from different walks of life expressed deep condolences on the death of the eminent leader. Noted personalities including BJP's national Vice-President Baijyant Panda visited Nanda's residence in the capital city to pay last respects to the departed soul. Union Minister and senior BJP leader Jual expressed also expressed grief over his demise.

"Nanda played a significant role in taking forward the RSS ideology in Odisha and was one of the founding members of party in the State," said Sameer Kumar Mohanty, Sanghachalak of RSS Odisha Purba Pranta.
