Local residents have expressed concern about the increasing use of loud DJs during festivals and processions, which often continue late into the night and violate sound regulations.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals and cultural circles who have demanded strict enforcement of noise control norms and action against those responsible. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations, but the tragic death has reignited debate over uncontrolled DJ sound systems and their impact on public health and safety.

Meanwhile, the DJ Association President expressed outrage and demanded punishment and said, “I’ve come to know there was some competition among the procession groups over who would play the loudest music,” he said.

“There are regulations on DJs, but there are no strict restrictions on traditional musical bands. We are deeply saddened that a precious life has been lost because of this incident. The band that came for the procession was from Kendrapara; those responsible should be punished,” the association president added.
