Bhubaneswar: Days after seeking status report on outsiders occupying hostels in various universities, Odisha Governor and chancellor of universities SC Jamir asked the VCs to submit report on implementation of UGC guideline in toto and sought recommendation on amendment of ex-statute and Odisha manual act in a meeting at Raj Bhawan here on Monday.

Jamir too sought reports on the effective implementation of UGC guideline in technical institutes across Odisha which are reportedly not adhering the UGC strictures.
Sources said, six committees will submit separate reports on the above mentioned subjects by October 3.

Berhampur University vice-chancellor Deepak Kumar Behera, after attending the conference said, “The meeting mainly delved into implementation of UGC guideline in toto. It was also discussed on the much-needed amendment of ex-statute and amendment of Odisha manual act.”

The issues like varsity infrastructure, discipline, academic and administrative reforms, filling up of vacant posts and choice-based credit system were also a part of the discussion.

“Six committees will send their recommendations to Higher education and finance departments on these,” added he.
