In a unique and thought-provoking initiative, a discussion programme was organised at Utkalamani High School in the Kendupatna area under Baranga block of Cuttack district on Monday. The programme focused on the vital role of teachers’ guidance in shaping students’ lives and helping them build a strong foundation for the future.
According to reports, speakers at the event emphasised that the words, values, and discipline imparted by teachers play a crucial role in moulding students’ character, thought process, and overall direction in life. The initiative was described as particularly significant in the present times, as it highlighted the age-old guru-shishya (teacher–disciple) tradition, which continues to remain relevant even in the modern education system.
During the interaction, students of the younger generation were encouraged to follow in the footsteps of former students and draw inspiration from their achievements. Educationists who addressed the gathering shared valuable insights not only on maintaining a healthy academic environment but also on developing essential life skills. They stressed the importance of holistic development, urging students to focus on values, discipline, and personal growth beyond classroom learning.
