Utkal University students will have chance to go abroad soon

Bhubaneswar: Students of Utkal University will soon get a chance to study in Bangladesh, Maldives and Nepal.

During a 2-day seminar held by the Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PMIR) department on the university campus which began today, representatives of the 3 nations informed about the  proposal to jointly conduct student exchange programs along with a research project.

The seminar was attended by MNU (Maldives National University) business school’s Dean, Professor Abdul Rehman Mubarik and former Dean Professor Radheshyam Pradhan of Nepal Tribhuvan University.

Soon, a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will be signed in this regard, informed Utkal University’s PMIR department head, Santosh Tripathy.

“The seminar has been primarily held to strengthen the industrial relationships within the countries at a time when the role of labour unions is weakening,” Tripathy said.

“In March, we had gone to Nepal along with 10 students. We will try our best to improve relationship between the institutions. We are discussing on student exchange, teacher exchange and research-based programs,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Mubarik said, “We do think about future collaborations and working together and probably we will meet again later in the future so that we can collaborate together in different areas (sic).”

Similarly, Pradhan praised the Utkal University officials for conducting the seminar.
