The House was later adjourned till 3pm.

While CLP leader Bhupinder Singh and BJPLP leader Jay Narayan Mishra lambasted the government for ignoring the persistent demands for setting up a High Court bench in western Odisha, parliamentary affairs minister Kalpataru Das criticized the Opposition for disrupting House proceedings only to gain political mileage over the issue.

To counter the Opposition onslaught, BJD MLAs led by Pushpendra Singhdeo staged a dharna near Gandhiji’s statue inside Assembly premises demanding setting up a permanent bench of High Court in western Odisha.
