Bhubaneswar: In another case among many of late, a bookshop owner was robbed of cash and mobile phone at gunpoint near Patrapada under Khandagiri Police limits of Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the robbery happened four days back, when three bike-borne miscreants came to the bookshop situated along the National Highway near Khandagiri and decamped with cash and mobile phone after holding the shopkeeper at gunpoint.

Though four days have already passed and two out of the three accused are clearly identifiable from the CCTV camera footage, police are yet to trace the miscreants.

"One robber was on the bike, the second one stayed outside keeping a vigil on the road while the third miscreant came inside the shop brandishing a gun & robbed my brother who was present at the shop," alleged Harmon Behera, the owner of the bookshop.

Bhubaneswar DCP, Anup Sahoo said, "A case is registered at the Khandagiri Police Station & investigation is still going on. We'll nab the suspects soon."

It's worth mentioning here that the Commissionerate Police had recently intensified its drive to put a leash on the dacoits & robbers and had apprehended many such criminals following encounters. However, such efforts have failed to curb crime in the Smart City.
