He further said that six pairs each of Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat Express trains are currently operational in Odisha. The minister also stated that 100 per cent electrification of railway tracks in the state has been completed.

Ashwini Vaishnaw thanked Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for his cooperation and said that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the double-engine government is working effectively.

“Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated a massive budget of Rs 10,928 crore for Odisha, while railway projects connected to various districts of the state have reached a total investment of Rs 90,659 crore. When the double-engine government was formed in 2024, we had promised that railway projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore would be implemented in Odisha within five years. In line with that commitment, projects worth Rs 90,659 crore are already underway. With an additional allocation of Rs 10,000 crore, Odisha will soon achieve the Rs 1 lakh crore milestone in railway projects. This was our promise, and we will fulfil it,” said Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
