Unidentified man found dead hanging from 33 KV electric tower in Bhubaneswar

The body of an unidentified person was recovered from a 33 KV electric tower located within the premises of a Regional Educational Institute in Bhubaneswar on Friday morning. The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear at this stage.

Local residents noticed the body hanging from the power tower and immediately alerted the police control room. Following the tip-off, teams from the Commissionerate Police and the Fire Services rushed to the spot to recover the body. The deceased was later shifted to Capital Hospital for further examination.

Authorities have so far been unable to ascertain the identity of the deceased. The cause of death is also yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing to establish whether it was accidental, suicidal, or due to any foul play.

Police and hospital officials are working together to conduct necessary post-mortem examinations, while the area has been cordoned off to facilitate a smooth investigation.

“We were informed that a man has committed suicide. On being informed, we immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the body before shifting it to the hospital. The man was found hanging on the tower. He will be around 35 years old. His identity is still unknown,” informed Manas Behera, fire officer.
