Unable To Bear Pain, HIV-Positive Youth Ends Life In Odisha

Mayurbhanj: In a shocking incident, an HIV positive youth died allegedly after setting himself on fire at Sonaposi village under Tiring Police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

The youth was tested positive for HIV some three to four years back. He was staying alone after his brother reportedly shifted to another place after marriage. Both the parents of the youth had died earlier.

According to reports, the youth was rescued in a critical condition after he allegedly set himself on fire by pouring kerosene. The youth was immediate rushed to Rairangpur hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Sources said that the youth was mentally depressed and had confined himself inside his house. It is suspected that he resorted to such extreme step after failing to cope up with the circumstances following his diagnosis.
