UG, PG admissions in Odisha to begin early; new session from July second week

Undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admissions in Odisha will be conducted earlier this year, with the Higher Education Department issuing a revised academic schedule aimed at commencing the new academic session from the second week of July.

As part of the revised timeline, the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) will also be held earlier than usual. The department has aligned the entrance examination process with its broader plan to streamline admissions and academic activities across universities and colleges in the state.

Strict Timeline for Examinations

The Higher Education Department has directed all universities and undergraduate colleges to adhere strictly to the academic calendar and ensure that examinations are conducted on schedule.

Institutions have been instructed to complete all final semester undergraduate examinations by April 30 without fail. The department has stressed that any delay could disrupt the admission cycle and academic session.

Results Within One Month

Authorities have mandated that examination results must be declared within one month of completion. The move is aimed at preventing delays for students seeking higher education opportunities.

Timely publication of results will also enable students from Odisha to apply for admissions to central universities and other institutions without facing procedural setbacks, the department stated.
